5 tips to increase the CTR of your websites

The Click Through Rate (CTR) is a percentage that tells you how many clicks a certain link receives based on the number of impressions it has had. In addition to measuring how effective marketing campaigns have been, it also allows you to measure the impact your websites are having on users’ search intentions.

There are various means by which you can visualize the CTR level of your websites. However, one of the most common means is usually Google Search Console, which is the premier provider of Analytics and Insights for webmasters. Once its value is known and depending on the niche and your own experience, you will be able to determine if the CTR is low or correct.

How to increase the CTR to favor the search results?

If you discover that the CTR of your website is not yielding the expected results, you must take several actions to raise it. Some of the most relevant are:

  • Use Keywords correctly: Define a target keyword and use it naturally in the title and content. If the user sees the exact search term they want, they will be more likely to click.
  • Create irresistible Call-To-Action: Create a need in the reader and reinforce their interest in knowing more about what you have raised with words like “Join Now” or “Learn more”, for example.
  • Adjust URLs: Have you clicked on an add where the URL has nothing to do with what you’re looking for? Not always, right? This is because if the Headline and URL don’t look anything alike, you’ll miss the ad. Create an appropriate URL for the user’s content and search intent.
  • Take advantage of the calendar: Special dates, such as Mother’s Day, Black Friday, Christmas, or New Year, are perfect for creating campaigns that receive a good number of clicks.
  • Create an effective strategy: Good planning of content or ad campaigns tends to provide better results than those that require large investments. In other words, create campaigns that favor the ROI of your company in the shortest possible time.

How to calculate the CTR?

If you want to know what the CTR of your website is in a certain period, you must know how many clicks and impressions (views without interaction) it has had in that time. For example, if in one week your website receives 25 clicks and 1,200 impressions, you calculate:
